Trivializing the Holocaust by comparing it to other events or incidents, especially for political purposes - is as bad if not worse than Holocaust denial. So please please please stop doing it ! The victims and survivors of the Holocaust deserve that respect.

Nobody wants their shit criticized. Nobody, especially from people who can't legitimately claim ignorance. My most important undergrad class was on the Holocaust. Never been so disappointed to see the prof + classmates (at Davidson) cope at the end with "God must have a plan."
