Think about it. Is it realistic or even fair, to expect that one could dismantle racism and corruption in one year? The structural change will not come overnight. This statement is coming from a BIPOC woman who is constantly reminded that her life does not matter or count.

Respectfully, I offer to you that the disparities, inequities, and the hate embedded in Jim Crow is centuries old. It will not be dismantled overnight. To think it can be done in one year as the new SFDA is unrealistic and naive.

I completely agree, and my fear is that this movement won’t get the chance to come to fruition due to short term overcorrections and a failure to manage the messaging to keep/gain public support. Right now I think we are seeing a failure in both.
