I’m puzzled why Boris’s team thinks this is necessary. Impregnable majority. Five, probably 10, years in government guaranteed. Opponents in the Press can’t hurt him.

I hope that every ordinary working class person, let alone any anarchist or communist, who has ever been convicted by this judge get on the phone to their solicitor immediately. Outrageous bias.

  7. Jeez, this is my neck of the woods. LP so far removed from its roots it needs a "working-class section" and workshops to train its members how to talk to ordinary voters. Kill me now.

My 16 year old son today received from the council, paperwork to REGISTER to VOTE. That’s right, Wales is allowing children to vote. Of course, it’s only because Welsh Labour is plummeting in popularity and they believe that children will vote for them - Wales, we CAN do better

  10. Enjoyed this article by my former (!!!) MEP colleague arguing against presumed inevitability of political outcomes, and esp looking forward to how best to argue against SNP's attempts at presenting a break-up of the union as the only future:

France, 2020. Firefighters being beaten up by the police in broad daylight. How much longer can the authorities get away with this?

If Trump is to be defeated, it should be through the battle of ideas and ultimately the ballot box. You shouldn’t try to resolve genuine political disagreements by kicking people out of office via bureaucratic manoeuvrings.

Dehumanising people - giving them subhuman characteristics likes ‘knuckle-dragging' - technique used to justify idea that certain of us have no right to a voice - nor equal treatment. These attitudes have a long and ugly history. Just as well you lost.

I think Brexit broke the tribalism. I was always a Labour voter; I was brought up in the North East. Even voted for Labour in the 2017 GE safe in the knowledge that JC would respect the referendum. Then he didn't. Voted Tory in 2019. No regrets.
