The backlog for service related ratings and appointments skyrocketed in 2009 when PTSD and Agent Orange Illness were finally recognized by the VA. The system is broken and will take years to repair despite who is the top person of 360,000 employees.

Nineteen years, three heart attacks, two strokes all mysterious. Then I landed in a VA hospital. Within one month Agent Orange was mentioned. The VA generally sucks, but I have also gotten good care by pretty good doctors. VA "Choice" is BS, no thanks.

I agree. There are many great VA medical centers who can identify vet related medical symptoms quickly that many civilian healthcare providers can not.

Happening now in my community...VA is partnering with local hospital to open a clinic for vets...great news for local vets who are about 30 miles from the nearest VA Hospital. I feel a clinic to hospital IP treatment may be on the horizon.

This is not hard....give them a card that will be accepted at any medical facility of the vets choice and will pay for any procedure the licensed medical practitioner requests...simply...just take it out of the money that is suppose to go to South Africa
