Isn't the US already a powerhouse in mfg? Does any country produce more goods than the US? Isn't the real issue employment? Isn't the challenge here that technological progress that is both labor and capital saving?

Actually, for anyone paying attention buying and installing car parts... China has been whooping us. I see the Mexico deal as a slap to China and I will be much happier to be working with parts that may actually last longer than a couple months at most.

So Fox has pulled out Navarro and Bill Richardson to defend this putative agreement. Both Democrats. Could it be because it's just more government over-regulation? Yeah, probably. This deal actually would make NAFTA more protectionist (read: worse).
