Ive always been for the death penalty however, after giving it recent thought, what does it really accomplish? Why do we put to death certain criminals over others? Life for a life? What about crimes against people that don’t take life literally but in the psychological sense?

Death means the end. Shouldn’t suffering be the end result for the perpetrator? It is for the survivors. So, if we use that logic then, life for life doesn’t stand as strong as suffering for suffering. I say make them suffer in life and let God decide death and what happens after
