1975 was the last year we exported more than we imported. Not one person in our government has been on the side of the American worker. If time was of the essence why didn't they take care of the problem 40 years ago?

Because our trade deficit isn't a serious problem. There's nothing "on the side of the American worker" about making it more expensive to hire workers and to make it more expensive to buy the things we need every day.
