Please our economy is bad, don’t listen to this man, he just talks plenty but no action.

Google just opened up its merchant appstore to Ghanaians yesterday. You can now sell apps on the Play Store worldwide and get paid in local currency. This initiative will boost our economy.
-
Don't talk about this like it's a government initiative.
-
In the past, whenever I asked why Google wasn't giving us access to their market I've been told that it required government-level co-operation. That's why I believe this development is not merely a coincidence. I may be wrong, though.

Why invest in technology when more than 60% of the population are illiterates ? Waste of money

-
For your information, the literacy rate in Ghana is 76.6%, but thanks for your concern. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_literacy_rate …
-
Did you know people have completed JHS in Ghana and still can’t spell their names ?? If you know you know !
-
You underestimate what people can do when they are exposed to the right opportunities. There's a lot of facts and figures that actually show that this is the right time to invest a lot of effort in boosting our nation's strength in technology.
-
What you’re saying is true but the question is how do you build a house without a proper foundation?
-
Interesting question. What's your definition of a proper foundation?
-
My answer, though is, smart people - in other words, companies. That's why I think helping organizations like Rancard Solutions, Edel IT Consult, Nsano and
@BlueSPACEAfrica connect to silicon valley was a very strategic. These are firms already interested in driving change. -
This dreams are all impossible without proper foundations !

In return to shove useless tech, apps to Ghanian people, that's just great
-
We can decide for ourselves which apps are useful or otherwise before downloading them, but thanks for your concern.
-
Only open and operate in Accra. Have u been to bring Ahafo or northern or upper east or west even Volta. Bruh Ghana is nowhere. Maybe Accra is, but Ghana isn’t. And I’m surprised you inform yourself from Wikipedia in this day and age.
-
I'm trying to propose solutions but it seems you are only proposing problems. What is the way forward? Please elaborate.
-
Empower people to find a ways to penetrate tech market on their own, US tech giants never share, you techs will be substandard with thm around
-
Seriously, though, that's a really pessimistic view. I think the realistic view takes into account how much leverage we stand to gain from US tech giants, if you realize that we actually have agency. We have our own long-term plans. We are not helpless.
-
My man if we can manage to bypass the sympathetic tendencies, then every collaborations will be fruitful, no one can take us for a ride but see a potential partner instead of very needy people
-
Whether anyone takes us for a ride or not is ultimately up to us. We have real power and we can use it to shape the relationships we engage in. I believe it's possible to create a scenario where the outcome favors everyone's interests.
