Banning plastic straws may be good for ocean life, but what about people with disabilities who rely them? http://on.forbes.com/6018DF9Lg pic.twitter.com/QlNZ2LAZ48

Plastic alternatives like bamboo, cardboard & metal exist already. Hemp straws will dominate the market in 5 years. I’ve yet to see anyone disabled voice this concern btw We allow service animals on planes as an exception to a rule. I believe in our ability to figure out straws

I don't think producing non-plastic straws will be too difficult to figure out. Not exactly rocket science.

There are now biodegradable straws available as well as metal and glass straws. There is no longer a need for plastic straws.

Decades ago straws were made from paper. Then they used a waxy substance to cover the seems to make straws more durable. Surely, something can be developed in this day and age. If plastic bans increase, a new industry will be born.

Straws don't have to be plastic. Anyone with the resourcefulness of a child can type "biodegradable straw" into a search engine and solve your problem.
