okay so it seems to be different ways to define character indexes and their mappings?

direct seems to create entries where all of them in the range are linear. so like, a direct CMAP will have a begin of 32 and an end of 126 and a value of 0, which'll mean that there's a codepoint 32 at offset 0, and a codepoint 33 at offset 1, and so on

but hey now I hae a list of all the codepoints supported and I can just inject those into my glyphextractor

to continue the theme of "I am too tired", I just set up a system to limit how many times a character is tried to be extract, and it would fail if any letter hadn't been tried at least 5 times. at the start, this was all of them, so the program instantly finished

I might need to add code to skip kanji. this font has a lot, and listing them all individually is unlikely to be useful and makes the page VERY tall

BUT HOW WILL WE BE ABLE TO TELL AT A GLANCE IF A GENERATOR HAS U+64CD, CJK Unified Ideograph-64CD?

okay that's much more reasonable. I need to add some kind of indication that there ARE characters in the elided blocks, but that's a start

okay so I need to wire it into some alternate templates, like the signs, you're a boy/girl, professor juniper, maybe a few more.

also it turns out some of the unicode is lies. they've mapped some custom symbols onto parenthesized digits. even ones that are also in unicode!
