yeah I think because of how the heights work, changing any one of them without changing the associated ones will just result in nonsense

this is such a weird format. There doesn't seem to be any absolute heights anywhere, instead heights only exist implicitly because when you have a half-wall, the height of the wall is included

I noticed that it had a minor problem where it was horizontally flipped so I thought I'd quickly add a fix and this was the result

I added rendering of the start position (in green) and the wall-colorization ("e") data, and... clearly I have more work to do for the wall colorization data.
