And what I'm saying is that cryptocurrency developers shouldn't be colluding with nation states. Cryptocurrency is meant to serve as a check on the state's monopoly over monetary policy.

Control of the money supply enables that military. Can't fight a war if you can't pay your troops. If you can't stretch and contract your economy to shoulder the costs of conflicts, you won't start low yield wars.
