Very interesting concept, but worth noting this also increases the incentive for previously honest site managers to exit scam and burn their users. Or to do the same and push the blame to an anonymous hacker that doesn't exist.

I like the idea of toying with integrating economic incentives into the individual infosec best practices. A great line to get the community thinking down.

It's applicable widely indeed. Really interesting how this allows for all these new models, imo. I was hoping the concept would make more sense with the simplest example as a little brain food. Curious for what other people make of it. Thanks for the great points.

I agree entirely. Yours is obviously theoretical w/ huge surface of attack. I wish I had a better proposal but this is more direct of an incentive model, especially if you consider average users, than I've considered. Definitely going to be chewing on this idea.
