Yes. You. But the discussion was referring to new people not already owning bitcoin. What should they do ?

The silly financial advice you are promoting w/ "hodl the tree, not the branch"(="allocate your wealth in every single airdropped scamcoin in existence, buying 1 arbitrary unit of airdropped scamcoin for each bitcoin unit you hodl") is completely unrelated to address formats.
-
That advise is for people who hodld. Keep hodling. In the future we could either learn or repeat mistakes. More high profile forks are coming. This is opensource.
-
Either your advice is for people who will never buy/receive new bitcoins in the future, or the formulation is equivalent to suggesting to actively buy scamcoins. Also, either your advice is based on privacy/security concerns about the airdrop claim, or it's completely pointless.
-
What's wrong with the privacy/security claims?
-
Nothing. That makes sense.
