    did anybody get the new Metal shader debugging working in the Xcode 10 Beta? On MBP I get an error popup (see below), and on iOS (iPad Mini4 with iOS12 beta) the "Debug Selected Vertex" menu item is disabled :/

    ...also integrating vscode with custom build scripts is quite easy just by writing various .json config files, for instance I can generate mixed C/C++/python projects, with both python and C++ debug targets in the same project (the fips-... are python targets):

    if you can run the analyzer in Xcode, I found the 'arrow visualization' very helpful there, especially in complex cases that only happen by lots of unrelated assumptions across a deep call-stack (this is just a simple example though):

    tada, SNA file loading added to the tiny CPC6128 emulator (only from local domain, but drag'n'drop of local files works too), no sound yet, that's next (it already works on OSX via sokol_audio.h)

    Hmm diminishing returns I think, it looks a tad bit sharper, but not much (left is 2x, right is 4x)... it's probably better to do a bit of fragment shader magic, I'd like to get a cheap CRT raster effect in eventually

    I guess some of those ideas also apply to native builds too (e.g. using puts instead of printf), also BloatMcBloatface might help to see what functions contribute most to the size (this is a native 'Hello World' on OSX):

    I have added HTML5 virtual keyboard support to sokol_app.h, and the Tiny Emulators can now be used on mobile too. Works best in portrait mode, tested on iPad Mini4 / iOS12. Depending on system, important keys are missing unfortunately):

    ok, sokol_app.h for Linux somewhat working (with X11+GLX), this is an extremely dumbed down version of what GLFW is doing, but it's still a lot of code :/

    The weird thing is that text got thinner in most places in Mojave, but I think that was a visual design decision. Text rendering in Xcode on Retina display looks great IMHO, and overall UI definitely feels snappier (but unlikely that this is related to the text rendering changes)

    unfortunately I don't have a standalone test with produces sound, I added a few ImGui debugging windows to my emulator and were using games and demos for debugging:

    btw if I remove the [[mtk_view layer] setMagnificationFilter:kCAFilterNearest] I get exactly the blurriness in your screenshot, but the font texture filter doesn't matter (it's blurry both with nearest and linear filter):

    hmm, this is what it looks like for me, the font texture uses MTLSamplerMinMagFilterLinear for min/magFilter and MTLSamplerMipFilterNotMipmapped for mipFilter, looks fairly crisp, this is the default font

    looks like Xcode/clang has an optional warning but that must be enabled first ("Suspicious Implicit Conversion")

    ...and here's the (slightly warped) "tiny C64 emulator" running as native iOS app on iPad Mini4 with the new iOS keyboard support in sokol_app.h, (and sokol_gfx.h using the Metal backend) :D essentially 2 lines of code to show the keyboard when tapping:

    spent a bit of time to add iOS onscreen keyboard support to sokol_app.h, because the stuff that I should actually do (Linux+X11+GLX) is such a hassle :D peeking at libgdx source was very helpful for this!

    new minor fips feature for iOS/MacOS: you can now add a .plist file to a cmake target's source file list, and it will "do the right thing" (override the default-plist-file generated by fips), also see
