Great discussion! Even as a remote freelancer, most of these points hold true. Leaving Modo for Blender would bring my productivity down to 5-10% and would take 4-6 months before I was back to 100%. I can't afford that! I'm interested in Blender, but switching will take time.

Are you sure? we did a total shift in 2 weeks… after 15 years of max/maya... and we are way more productive now,also you don't have to do a total switch, leverage both.

Kikiki because its not MAYA and what is industry standard ...Was nasa ever industry standard .Space X was not there at look at blender from day one up to now this z getting old ..

I agree with many with the points but one that I'm curious about is about bug fixing, where Autodesk has the resources and money to fix the bugs that you report, it still would take some time for the version with the bug fixes to come out.

And where as the Blender Foundation might not have the resources to fix the bugs that you report, you could hire your own developers to fix the issues and get a fixed version as soon as it has been fixed, what do you think?
