To be fair, this is a measure of the readings on samples, but there are a host of issues... just how bad is it in the worst 10% that aren't factored in, Edwards' testing to my understanding was to track trends and cheating/wasn't for a safe/not safe call, long-term 1/

wear it internal infrastructure and the degree of variability in a home's test results with the corrosion of home plumbing from the crisis (i.e. - On a bad day, does a house at 10ppb pop to 50ppb or 15,000 ppb). Further, additizonal threats from the water due to internal 2/

plumbing damage. This does not mean people should be panicked or extra fearful, but these are significant follow-up considerations that should be tracked and the Flint residents are asking the same questions I would be asking as a parent. 3/

And another question... what levels of lead, contaminants, and/or bacteria are safe for a average population versus one that has already been poisoned and had their bodies and immune systems compromised for years? People are right to make their voice heard on these issues. 4/

And do you measure off such raw levels or end user impacts? And as an end user, what matters to you... probably whether you and your kids are still having rashes, getting sick, etc.? I would think so. And what's the continued care, etc.? 5/

Said differently, there is a common phrase in medicine: "The surgery was successful, but the patient died." The questions being asked by residents are completely right to protect their families and they should be treated only with dignity and respect. 6/

Started following @FlintGate Melissa Mays when the Flint water issue became widely reported and have been amazed at how long she’s been fighting. I’m both sad she and her fellow community members still have to and also inspired at their refusal to give up.

This is an important distinction for people to understand.
