From my experience best bets seem such a good idea at the outset and then a very poor idea from around three months in. This is mainly because the content is invariably owned by a department, not an individual, and no one is willing to take responsibility for curation.

It’s quite sad to me that this is considered a new search feature when this has been a mainstay feature of many existing commercial search offering for decades.. oh and all you kids get off my lawn!

I feel your pain ..I think this is also part of the ongoing feature arms race between
#elasticsearch and#solr. There was also an announcement of the new#sql API which has been in Solr for quite a while now
