I am FIRED UP about this paper people: There are 40 dark companions (read neutron stars and black holes) to observer stars just casually reported on. 40 NEUTRON STARS AND BLACK HOLES WITH STELLAR COMPANIONS.

Today on : binary stars from ! Figure 5 is my fav.: (a) The close binary fraction decreases w/ increased primary-star size (lower logg)! This is presumably because closer companions are consumed as the size of the primary gets larger,

We’re kicking off with an observational overview by Vicky Kaspi. Getting us all on the same page about FRB observations... repeaters, non-repeaters, “sad trombone” spectra. There’s something for everyone!

As a 19 year old working with James Binney, the beauty of Galactic Dynamics lured me into astrophysics. With GAIA tracing orbits of billions of stars, now is the most exciting time to be dynamicist. Join us in NYC for our summer school!
