      Hi Richard, Quick question: for submission purposes, does a story set during the Horus Heresy count as part of the Warhammer 40,000 setting? Or is the timeline for a 40k story limited to the "present"?

      It’s a in-company fact that Black Library authors don’t get to choose to do a HH novel (especially now they’ve finished) and are instead selected. That’s why Horus Heresy isn’t a category option on the submissions page.

      Is HH a closed IP? I thought that there were 54 out and more coming? Also, I wasn't sure whether this submission process was necessarily for novels. It seemed to me that "story" could also mean shorter works.
