Still far too many people on streets during pandemic, a situation that's worsened especially in SOMA. We need plan for everyone who is now inside hotels, all old and/or w medical condition. Closing hotels w/o plan for placement is reckless & inhumane.https://www.sfchronicle.com/local-politics/article/S-F-will-being-moving-more-than-500-homeless-15682132.php …

My colleagues
@HillaryRonen@DeanPreston@shamannwalton have sent a formal letter to receive details of the plan for how we are ensuring people aren't released to the streets, and called an emergency Committee of the Whole.1 reply 1 retweet 14 likesShow this thread -
Our legislation that required adequate hotel rooms address homelessness during this crisis is still be ignored, leaving far too many people on streets, growing encampments. Closing these hotels without a detailed, effective plan will make things much worse. It can't happen.

We should grow placements, moving people inside. Instead we are now hearing hotels will be closed, potentially adding to street homelessness. That would be unacceptable, I'll do everything I can to make sure we continue progress in ending homelessness for these folks & others.

The problem is not housing - it’s that you and
@chesaboudin support open air drug dealing which creates this fentanyl epidemic. It has far less to do with housing than you’re putting on. Stop drug dealing gangs.3 replies 0 retweets 9 likes
