It’s my pinned tweet. I don’t really wanna discuss it other than to say that the intended message was that white people should acknowledge their privileged in society and be ashamed by it. That we need collective understanding of how being white makes our lives better.

I like you Dave but you're misrepresentinbgn your own tweet bro. You didn't say we should be ashamed of the white privilege you said we should be ashamed to be white. Two totally different connotations. The privilege is shameful not the person.

That’s a very different context, yes.

Calling out the privilege I'm all in for but to take it into bigotry over skin tone no one has control over is a step to far. Does nothing to move toward the change we need.

Again, I literally never said that. That wasn’t my point, which I’ve reiterated countless times. Many many ppl got what I was saying. Are they all inferring it wrong?

It's literally in the pinned tweet. You most certainly DID say it. Maybe clarified down thread but down thread clarification isn't what you have pinned.

No, it literally doesn’t exclusively mean that. Hind sight...yeah I see now it can be interpreted that way. But always about privilege. you can be white and be unashamed of privilege You can be white and unashamed of skin color

Being white comes with privilege, but privilege is not the overall experience of most working class white people. It’s very important to be clear about white privilege versus “being white.”

Fred Hampton was able to cross artificial barriers by showing that class solidarity is universal and that skin color was an artificial barrier to solidarity. But, then the FBI assassinated him in his bed.

For clarification: He never ignored racism he simply understood it had to be both we address. Just doing one won’t solve the other.
