Yang not only doesn’t support #MedicareForAll which is a TYPE of single payer system, he doesn’t support single payer. What he does support is something in the mix of the ACA & a public option. If he were more honest, it wouldn’t be as cringe.pic.twitter.com/DTTzn3omnk
That excuse of “being realistic” is a talking point for insurance companies. That’s how they maintain control. Point is if you’re not for #MedicareForAll don’t say you are. I’d say that to anyone. Bernie has already laid out how he’d pay for it, it’s just some don’t agree w it.

He’s admitted his funding plans will cover roughly half of costs....in order to pay for it fully taxes will increase by > 4% which he’s not disclosing bc of unpopularity of raising taxes, so he’s leading the whole conversation on healthcare by being dishonest of cost, timeframe

I think Yang’s plan’s intention is being a step 1 to Bernie’s M4a but it will take more than 4-8 years to transition to bc of the costs and the power insurance industry has...it’s why I think outcompeting private insurance will be more successful than banning them outright

But you’re right, his plan is not Medicare for all (at least not at first) and he really shot himself in the foot saying it was for so long. People are comparing his plan to Australia’s united healthcare system.
