.@pablosolon, Bolivia's former U.N. ambassador under Evo Morales, says what happened in the country is not a coup. Right-wing forces are going to "take advantage of this situation" but he blames the crisis on an "addiction to power" by Morales and his party.pic.twitter.com/V3Ow6IbaNe

My understanding is that the referendum issue went to the Bolivian Supreme Court where they cited precedent that Morales had the right to run for re-election. Morales didn't just ignore the referendum. That is a mischaracterization.

I read that Bolivia had 3 terms only for president per their constitution. Morales wanted to run a 4th time. Changing it to 4 terms caused the Supreme Court to quit, replaced by Morales hand picked choices. Anyone have any details or an article that can back this up?

I included some links. For Morales’ first term Bolivia allowed multiple reelection, the rule changed to two which allowed him 3, he wanted a 4th.https://medium.com/@alanmyron/bolivia-crisis-facts-c864c719c6f0 …

It is very clear. In an effort to defend tulsi you don’t have to discount actual facts. The court approved his term and said it was unconstitutional to prevent it. The OAS is a pro regime change organization that marks Venezuela’s elections as non democratic which was false.

Tbh I do think Morales shouldn't have ran for a 4th term, leaders leading for too long is obviously a bad issue, I am still against this coup though, he was elected into office

Who are you to deprive the electorate of another country the opportunity to vote for whomever they actually prefer? Term-limits are ex hypothesi anti-democratic.

How are they anti-democratic? If a leader is in power too long, they would get too comfortable in power and do stuff that doesn't really help the people.

Here: Americans won’t have it but that’s not how others see it. We can recall FDR though.https://nacla.org/news/2017/12/20/bolivia-says-goodbye-term-limits …
