.@pablosolon, Bolivia's former U.N. ambassador under Evo Morales, says what happened in the country is not a coup. Right-wing forces are going to "take advantage of this situation" but he blames the crisis on an "addiction to power" by Morales and his party.pic.twitter.com/V3Ow6IbaNe

Tbh I do think Morales shouldn't have ran for a 4th term, leaders leading for too long is obviously a bad issue, I am still against this coup though, he was elected into office

That’s not how things operate in Bolivia. Term limits are actually not democratic if we read up on history. Regardless, his party pushed him to run bc they knew something was up. They were onto them. They should have had others ready to take over. Now there’s a right-wing gov.

Can we leave Tulsi out of it for now. She hasn’t taken a public position as she is still researching the facts. I am just trying to get more information and have limited time this week. Thank you.

And the 24hr interruption of results during the elections?
-
This is a misnomer. The official count was never stopped, but a separate "Quick Count" was stopped when the official results started coming in, and then resumed after pressure. This thread has the details:https://twitter.com/kevinmcashman/status/1193703918624108544 …

#Tulsi's actually come out now and made a very strong and unequivocal condemnation of the#BoliviaCoup & US involvement. It took longer than I would have liked, but she was apparently sick the past week or two, and had her hands full w/ debate prep, campaigning, and Guard duty.Merci.
