The Arab Spring rose up to fight corruption, repression, inequality and austerity. The Lebanon and Iraq protests show this spirit is still very much alive. If we want a progressive future, we need to build up a global movement of and for working people.pic.twitter.com/KTheQouKK8

The Arab Spring was a western plot, was it? Real original.

I'm pretty sure the cia fueled it via Twitter, and other platforms. I know of one anonymous hacker they used to help.

I think that the Arab Spring was actually cool... initially, then it did get co-opted by US ... what is happening in Lebanon seems to be a People's action...
-
I prefer the term "hijacked", but yeah, agreed. Millions of protesters did not just take to the streets at the behest of the CIA. People had ligitimate grievances that sparked the initial protests.

Two outcomes of the Arab Spring that might be good to reflect on: first, in Egypt http://bit.ly/33T9i6f pic.twitter.com/IQ32ntsnIz

Second (and more recently) in Tunisia: http://bit.ly/2BAOS68 pic.twitter.com/ci7RqHpXHo

lol, this is just such a flagrantly false statement. A cursory look at what happened and the maneuvering by the West at the time reveals it was never something they would have wanted or planned

Ah yes, the Arab Spring. Which almost saw the Muslim Brotherhood come to power in Egypt. So good for the United States.

Lol US didnt want the arab spring, specially not to take out Mubarak. We inadvertantly caused world turmoil w our greed and when ppl fought we selectively picked sides in our favor. Same as its always been. Sadam was regime change for oil, we wanted Mubarak for israel remember?
