I haven’t read the bill in its entirety (it’s long af) so I could very well be mistaken. But this is the bill proposed by Bernie Sanders which I highly doubt has room for private health ins and he’s selling THIS specific bill on the campaign trail.

So basically bye
@Aetna@Cigna et al? I’m assuming? Since this bill will be comprehensive, that basically means people can still get insurance to cover their plastic surgeries, but nothing else, yeah?

@hexen220, child I believe all here already want a Medicare for all program. We are merely attempting to interpret intentions of statement, and ascertain validity of a need for clarification from all candidates, how they define it & other specific statements.1 réponse 0 Retweet 0 j'aime -

i understand that but i'm providing context to how private insurance works in other countries, difference between insurance in america vs idk the UK is that those companies aren't profiting off the backs of sick people in the UK

I appreciate that. I was merely highlighting that this disagreement centers specifically around a piece of U.S. legislation (in process), and U.S. policymakers' statements in regard to the U.S. policy as it progresses. That is the scope of the current discussion.

pretty much everything Bernie proposes is based on Nordic countries

Sure I agree he does. But in Nordic countries private insurance still exists. Again not a single developed nation (Cuba might be the exception & may or may not be considered developed) has complete socialized medicine with NO private insurance. None. We aren’t there yet.
