Bernie 2016: We need free college for all & to deal with student loan debt forgiveness
Dems: That’s too radical!
Elizabeth Warren 2019: We need free college and student loan debt forgiveness.
Dems: WOW she’s so good. She’s killing it. Bernie needs to learn!

This isn’t to trash in Warren btw, she has good policy but she’s no progressive. I wouldn’t mind her in a cabinet position, but she’s still part of the establishment. I’m happy everyone’s adopting Bernie’s stances but let’s be real, he’s the original Grease, the second was meh.

@daviddoel think she's better than Tulsi?1 réponse 0 Retweet 4 j'aime -
I’m not familiar w/ him but I think in general the smear campaign against her has been so strong even more than Bernie 2016, that it’s become popular & mainstream to believe it. It’s very few who stay independent minded. But after meeting her I’m more certain she’s the real deal.

I've had to explain irl how Tulsi really doesn't hate gays. That's the smear that has affected her the worst, I think. But I think this is fixable, with the right narrative and exposure.

I've had to explain this to straight people irl, and I'm gay. There's nothing more frustrating than being told--by straight centrists--how I'm wrong on this and how I'm supposedly supporting someone who will hurt us.

I was at a local town hall, talking 2020, when a straight woman (a fervent Clinton supporter), told me that Tulsi should go to hell, and that I was naive for supporting a homophobic trash candidate.

My town is left-leaning town, but I still remember how awful the mid 2000s were. I remember holding GSA meetings in a guidance counselor's walk-in closet, because we were not allowed to be recognized as an official school club until my senior year of high school.

I remember my gay friend being openly demeaned by a teacher to the point where he had to switch classes. I remember going to therapy when I was 14 and making up lies the entire time I was there, because it was easier to pretend I was bipolar or depressed than admit the truth.

Thank your for having the courage to live up to your convictions not just through words but actions. It’s not easy and not everyone can do it.
