Why are we celebrating a child denied a basic need by an insurance company? This is just another example of how the media is in the pocket of corporate interests. We are taught to think that the failure of the system is OK as long as there is a happy ending, ignoring the truth.

That's not why we are celebrating. We are celebrating because while the insurance company denied this child a wheelchair, these high school students stood up, and helped this child. It shows there are still caring people in this world.

It will take more than caring people to fix the sea of systematic failures that is taking the health of people. This is nothing more than an attempt to obfuscate the truth that our healthcare system is a failure.

Although this may be true, this boy needed this. Can we at least be happy for him?

I respect this. Yes we can be happy. But we also can be angry that this is even a thing. The boy wouldn’t ever have to think twice if we the nation paying the most for healthcare, actually had it for ALL. #Medicare4All NOW. So no other little boy ever has to go through this!
