Great writing and you've given me a lot of things to consider. But when I read articles like this, I can't help but get the feeling that while it is ok to profess one's love of a movie/tv series etc, there is a backlash when one says that they don't like it.

I think there's a two-fold thing. 1. people are very misunderstanding when you articulate "this is not for me" because its for them. And 2. whenever i really do come at criticizing something, I be sure that I account for everything and make my criticism super coherent/understood
