I still hate how the show is a narrative genital-tease, but this episode bringing back Elsie (the most humane of the humans), setting up William’s (potential) redemption arc, and introducing his daughter finally make the show feel less cynical to me, which I like

I wouldn't call Elsie humane, the show even makes a lot of points that her character is not.

I think you’re misinterpreting William’s daughter’s reappearance. We know his wife OD’d and he said his daughter is dead. I think the bathtub scene is his daughter. I think the “other host” Bernard was working on was the daughter, so it’s a horrid shock when She shows back up.

Uh I guess if you’ve seen next week’s you’ll know more than I (unless it does that maddening thing where it leaves us dangling to go deal with other storylines (which fine Maeve in feudal JapanWorld FINE I am into it)).
