It's the 10th anniversary of "Speed Racer." You're dang right I wrote a piece about it. It is high time to change the national conversation on the Wachowski's masterpiece.http://observer.com/2018/05/looking-back-at-the-wachowskis-2008-masterpiece-speed-racer/ …

Jesus Christ how many of you are going to try to convince us all with this shit? I’ve seen the movie: it’s bad or pretty decent if high.

It might almost be like we have a point and the way you dismiss movies has nothing to do with quality, objective and other-wise, and simply have to wrap you head around the way that other people see the film. And it's almost like I talk about this in the article.

I have read the article. I don’t know what the “way” I or anyone dismisses movies means, but I do not care for this one. You like it and I hear your reasons. there seems to be a concerted, grating effort to convince everyone that this is a lost masterpiece. I find that odd.

I don't care about your opinion, I care about whatever insight, opinion, or rationale you might have that would get me to consider anything about it more than the hollow sanctity of opinion itself. I care about the WHY.

I found the movie to be a loud, hollow recreation of a children’s cartoon filled with cgi.

And I found it to be a loud recreation of childrens cartoon filled with cgi (you say these things like they are automatically bad, which is nothing more than innate genre and textural snobbery) and it is ANYTHING but hollow, and I already explained all the meaning therein.

Also just because you explained the meaning doesn’t mean I agree that it’s there.

You keep missing the WHY. Why does the meaning not exist? Its like pointing at a door in the room and saying it doesnt exist. Convince me.

When I criticize something I explain exactly how the messaging adds up and exactly how it is a problem. Anything else is blind dismissal and worthless.
