What I adore about this movie is just how much fun everyone is having. Matthew Fox's "Jesus kid, you CAN drive" is one of my all-time favorite line reads because of this.

Regarding your point before, I guess the cinematic language there is “everything’s okay now because Dad’s here and he can beat up EVERYBODY ELSE’S dads”? As part of the general ode to family, filtered through the proverbial 11-year-old boy’s brain?
-
I think by "cinematic language" he means "the Wachowskis make every scene live up to it's full potential" not neccesarily "Every scene has a deeper meaning".

And it's great because A) the scene works on it's own and it's silly and B) it's an obscure reference to an episode of the cartoon where Pops is like "Oh right, I'm the world wrestling champion!" in the middle of a fight and he then starts winning the fight.
-
Gosh, I'd forgotten how delicious the cartoon was too.

And all the bits with the monkey. And the mind-boggling technical virtuosity. In lesser hands all that visual chaos would have descended into chaotic visuals and been unwatchable - if that makes sense!
