True doesn’t mean it also can’t be a stupid criticism. Also, it honestly doesn’t seem the obstacle is stopping people from understanding or liking the film. Seems like a weak criticism at best.

The main characters develop and have significant arcs even in those individual entries. All the character development for IW happens in other movies, which is Brody’s point

I dont mind criticizing the film. But basing your analysis on the idea that films should remain context-less is "fucking stupid", as Peter so eloquently said. To write about a film as if you are oblivious to the storytelling that has happened for 10 years prior is puzzling.
