This is an impossible movie to talk about with people who havent seen it...

True. I think the closest I could get is simply pointing out: Thanos didn't read the warning.

Once you recover, do yourself a favor. Rewatch GoG1. Particularly when they're explaining the stones. Then rewatch Dr Strange and pay attention 2 what Wong says. Then rewatch this and pay attention 2 what strange says. Some REALLY cool connections 2 b made between those scenes...

Is Infinity War worth watching if I haven’t seen Dr. Strange? (My MCU experience: Iron Man 1, Avengers 1, GOTG1, Thor: Ragnarok, Black Panther.)

Bare minimum I'd watch: Avengers Winter Soldier Age of Ultron Civil War Spiderman Homecoming Dr Strange Thor: Ragnarok Preferably in that order.

I want to point out that this kind of watching feels insane to me. I barely had a enough time to go see this one. And i think this exact thing is a problem.

I can understand the feeling, but this is EXACTLY what people were buying into when supporting a unified cinematic universe. And you know it.

But you have to understand, the "people" who are buying in is a far more narrow group of people that you realize.

Could b, but I've personally seen no evidence of that. Just leading into this movie we had a marathon for my bars trivia team. After last night they swore to the man/woman they would never miss a marvel film in theatres again. Most had only seen 3 mcu films b4 Ragnarok hit.

"I've personally seen no evidence of that" and this is where I need to point out how narrow that view is. Please trust me, on this. These films are basically impenetrable to outsiders now.

May b true. I personally disagree - again, I know people who jumped in at Th:Rag w/ no trouble - but u could b right. BUT, much the same could've been said about lotr:rotk/harry potter 7-2. THIS may have a barrier to entry, but I doubt it's the norm. I think youre over-worried.

Even if true it’s a testament to how good they are that they can be this dense with material and still have a hold on mainstream audiences.

I’d be interested in @BrandSanderson’s take on the problem, as someone who’s doing something vaguely similar with his books. I imagine it makes a difference that his sub-series all take place on different planets.

LOVE the cosmere books, writing excuses, IWD and every signing I've been to. Last I heard he's pretty on board with my opinion on the matter. He just hasn't started releasing the "heavy investment" books yet. But he does intend to and has already started BIG crossovers.
