Trump seems like Kanye's kind of guy: 'controls' his media, constantly trying new businesses, 'honesty', and in a way untouchable. Like his rant on that floating platform was super clear about that.

I think it goes deeper than that and Kanye sees in Donald Trump similar to himself someone who knows how to craft a pop culture story that resonates with people to the core. Both of them reveal a reality about humanity which a lot of people do not wish or dare to see or admit to.
