SO I MARRIED AN AXE MURDERER is Mike Myers’ best movie by a wide margin and a unapologetically weird gem of the ‘90s that everyone slept on. #IMakeMyOwnCanon #WorldPoetryDay

I wish I could extrapolate and verify aside from anecdotal experience, but I can vouch it spans at least two generations - Mormons in my age group (mid-30s) when I would visit friends at BYU/UVSC, and Mormons a decade younger (when I worked as a camp counselor) all quoted it.

And, of course, my proudest moment. Introducing it to my 18 year old niece last year and having her respond thus (and she's now an LDS missionary in Nicaragua so that's even more anecdotal proof!).pic.twitter.com/5ojZxSD2iC

In the early aughts you were sure to find a So I Married and Axe Murderer VHS on a BYU student's shelf. And it was a frequent choice for group date movie nights.

As a former Mormon I can confirm this. The entirety of my extended family, some 60 cousins or so, and all of their parents and mine, love the hell out of this movie.
