how the hell was "do the right thing" 's message about race nuanced? between the pizza shop brothers, the scene with the shoes, and when radio raheem died. I think it was pretty obvious and clear the message was "humans need to do better and love each other." https://twitter.com/FilmCritHULK/status/965011221677133824 …

oh spare me with the guilt trip, hulky. all this is about is your misuse of adjectives to sound sophisticated. i'd also rather you "I have spike lee right here" than anything. if you're gonna try to convince me that a clear message about race relations is "subtle"

Well, he said it was the greatest essay ever written about the film. And it's not a misuse, it's about how beyond the clear clarity of the overall duality message, there are so many thoughtful little details, read: nuances, that expand on the complexities.

well, I'm glad that good ol' pat on the back from your idol made you happy. I still can't agree with you on the grounds that the message of the film is in no way indirect or gently laid upon the audience.

And rather than read the reasons why it does just that, you'll just keep refusing to actually engage and make fun of me, etc. We call this willful ignorance. Good luck with life.
