I enjoyed Black Panther, but holy shit lmao. 1.) Do The Right Thing was already very accessible. Very. 2.) Not all movies about black communities are the same movie. The two mentioned here could not be more different. Watch more movies.https://twitter.com/filmcrithulk/status/964788803255676928 …

Okay let's get real, cause I'm not taking shit this year. Of course Do The Right Thing is accessible. It's brilliant. It's my favorite film of all time. I've written about it endlessly. Spike Lee even said I wrote the best essay about it ever. I am literally not kidding.

The issue of accessibility is two-fold: meaning it's about the way DTRT could not be more straight-forward to its point and yet white american demonized and misunderstood it anyway-

I literally talk about this not being the case. But you didn't actually read what I wrote, so why I am arguing. Especially given that you're going to throw out "watch more movies" not even for once thinking that I could probably run laps around your assumptive, lazy ass when it

comes to the history of cinema, african-american cinema, and even african cinema. But to even engage in such a debate is to lower this all to some nonsense argument of "i know more than you!" which is patently dumb. But that's how you came at this in the first place.

You're lack of even considering that I might have seen more belies the ugliness of your intention. Again, I could probably say all this in a more amenable way, but again: not taking shit. Grow up. Be better. Be considerate. Don't be reductive. Listen. Grow. Don't be a dick.
