Which makes him much harder for the sort of toxic person that becomes obnoxious online to latch onto. While Rick's façade of not caring at all is much easier for an angry person looking to lash to connect with. Makes sense now.

That's a fair point. I do feel Bojack shows the consequences of his behavior way more than Rick and Morty does, but that would show they're at different points in their arc.
