If the US Government were to really turn on people, they have nukes. No assault rifles can stop that. Meanwhile, they are easy to use murder machines that can be wielded by deranged people in schools.

I get that first point a lot. Do you honestly believe that the government would drop nukes on their own cities? And waste all of those resources? Would they drop them on a rebellion if said rebellion was at its door step? The answer is no. That is too stupid for them to entertain

So you would trade lives of children in exchange for a contingency plan in a dystopian scenario where the American government turns into a Kim jeong un esque dictatorship? There are dead kids right now.

If you're talking like that, might as well give up Checks & Balances for a more efficient model of government. I don't like this situation. At all. But I fear that this solution will only cause greater problems.

Present situation: More people die in America every week due to gun violence than any other continent combined. This is due to an unprecedented ease of access to guns and arms that is completely unique to america. Lets limit this access to see if the situation changes. agree?

You realize that the majority of gun deaths are suicides, right? You're not gonna stop those deaths.

(sry.. went to take a shower) Bro, the problem with that statement is that you are reducing "mass murders by guns" which are a drastically bigger problem in the US than any other country to a mere statistic. One dead kid is too many dead kids.

Also, murders with other weapons have gone up while gun crimes have gone down, so they're not entirely safer.

      1. The number of individual people that die in gun violence is more in the US than any other continent. They are drastically high. Unprecedented. Even if you account for population and other metrics 2. Guns can very easily be used to kill. Easier than a knife, a baseball bat, etcpic.twitter.com/Ha5ZGgCTeM

Right now the number one murder weapon of choice for murderers in america is a baseball bat. Second is a gun. If someone wants to murder me, I know which one I would want the murderer to choose.
