Oh I get that. Maybe it's my latent Catholicism getting in the way. The Commuter felt more satisfying to me. Spall's character was certain of his decision, when I wasn't convinced Kelly was.
From our conversation, I want to be blunt: I think you have a hyper literal way of looking at characterization and I think it impairs your ability to roll with story choices.

I take your point. I would disagree, but I'm not confident in setting out my stall clearly on twitter. Thanks for the responses. I understand people's love of SJ better. Not sure your explanation can override my (very much Catholic in origin) issues with it.
