Btw - If you're curious about the show in general, I have three more episodes left to watch, but it's a pretty ambitious series, even if most episodes are flawed. And like most anthologies, there are a couple true standouts coming up...

Will have recaps up later, but just to let you know that episodes four and five are absolutely stellar (in very different ways) and make this entire show worth it.

Episode 5... I'm happy to report that the "Hoodmaker" is absolutely stellar stuff on the emotion cost of surveillance and these two episodes make the entire show worth it.http://www.vulture.com/2018/01/electric-dreams-recap-season-1-episode-5-the-hood-maker.html …

Seriously, we need to have a giant conversation about the way race gets portrayed in sci-fi.

I ended up loving writing about this show, and also loving the act of watching this show. Screw the perils of "hit and miss" ratio, but that very possibility is the thrill of watching. But if you want the hits: "Crazy Diamond" "The Hoodmaker" and "The Commuter" are your ones!

The best episode for me. Does what Black Mirror doesn't, especially when compared to San Junipero, as it faces up to hardship and loss, rather than sidestepping it for a happy ending. That's a good comparison piece. Commuter vs San J: dealing with loss vs alternate reality

I'm probably the only person who felt that Kelly should have died rather than uploading her consciousness to San Junipero. The speech about her husband believing in something more, and the possibility that she could join him, made me think she really believed it.
