The phases “must-read” and “Logan Paul” don’t really go together.

I can understand this from a certain perspective but it also seems that there is an "our media is better" vibe from it. Point is, police your child's viewing and keep up with media as it stands and adapt. Be a fucking Parent!

Seems like verge is trying to stir the pot and say that all Youtubers are acting out of line. The mainstream media just loves to attack YouTube and are to blame for making companies drop ads from the platform. They had to drop a story that YouTube was funding ISIS.

yeah, i agree, try to keep an eye on what your kids are doing with/on social media. youtube mirrors the world & you can't censor the world. The Nazis are coming through loud and clear irl too. the gamer girls can & will take care of themselves. Resist the hate.

Why does this article talk so much about the need to take context into account, while using the completely manufactured PewDiePie "controversy" as an example? That's a pretty massive blow to its credibility right there
-
Taking PewDiePie's obviously satirical (if bad-taste) jokes as a sincere endorsement of Nazism that needs to be taken down is exactly the kind of context-insensitivity that the article complains about with the automodding
