I'm not a stickler for this type of thing usually - but how does the end of Raw work at all? SPOILERS - The parents knew what was up but still sent their kids to that school anyway?

I literally don't understand what you mean. "knew what was up?" They didn't know what was up til the end. But it's a giant metaphor about the natural carnal humanity we inherent as human beings, and pass behaviors through family.

As a metaphor it makes sense, but w/in the world of the story as it's set up? The parents freak out when she accidentally eats meat at the beginning, so clearly they're aware of the danger. Like I said, I'm not usually a stickler for this kind of thing, but this one bugged me.

Right and the whole metaphor is they can't stop it. It's briar rose / sleeping beauty. The "spinning wheel" / period stuff. You can't stop someone from growing up and inheriting your best and worst.

I can see that, but I guess like I felt there should have been something to show their effort there, as well as the futility of that effort. They don't try and have all the spinning wheels destroyed, so to speak. I thought Thelma explored similar territory a bit more thoroughly.

I can only speak for my experience, but one first watch it was all there and that ending had me grinning like an idiot with delight over the coherency of the message.
