Sitting down for The Dark Knight. First time I've seen it on the big screen since 2008. I love nearly every minute of this movie.

It's unbelievable to me that people say Nolan is dark and cynical in the face of the boat scene, where the people say "Fuck you" to Joker.

The ending is also a wonderful surprise. It's telegraphed and you can see it if you know it's coming, but even then it still hits you hard.

My biggest criticism is the lack of development for Rachel. Should have cared more. But otherwise pretty perfect

Embodied by the struggle over Harvey Dent's soul. The stakes are so specific, but at he same time, wide-reaching. AND HE FAILS!

Batman fails and that's tragic but it also shows that his premise was false, because HE was the real hero all along, not Harvey.
