GONE, BABY GONE MAY NOT BE AS DRAMATIC / SMOOTH AS THE TOWN & ARGO, BUT IT IS AFFLECK AT HIS MOST HUMANE, PERCEPTIVE, AND POWERFUL.

@FilmCritHULK W/out dissing ARGO, GONE BABY GONE is (imo) easily his best film (not a fan of THE TOWN, but I digress). A near masterpiece.

@FilmCritHULK I'd put GONE, BABY GONE above THE TOWN only because while TOWN is smoother, GONE has a deeper story. Really wrings you dry.

@FilmCritHULK It was that lack of humane-ness that made The Town feel inconsequential to me. Gone, Baby, Gone felt like it had real stakes.

@FilmCritHULK GONE, BABY GONE was such a huge surprise to me. I was not a fan of Affleck but it was a wonderful piece of work.

@FilmCritHULK Best film he's made. Noir is always about class, but switching tropes from genre to social commentary overtly is masterful.

@Brosef_Brady @FilmCritHULK I liked ARGO quite a bit. It's thematically thin, but a rock-solid caper that feels of its time period.
