Okay question, do I have to pick some real play style yet? Is character class a big thing right now? What's the most fun to play? I would run into WOW trouble like this in that some were way more fun than others (in my brief experiences)

Okay FF14 question, I died and selected "wait" hoping someone would revive me and no one around did and now I literally am just sitting here and cannot figure out for the life of me how to revive or get home....

I'm also losing my fucking mind trying to get a stupid anole egg to spawn. I'm watching videos and in everyone elses the thing just shows up. I have no idea what's happening here and basically everything I find online is from 6 years ago and just as confused...

So just as I'm starting to like a lot about this game... the UI might be what really does me in. The amount of new informative hints that pop up in the center right when starting an (unpausable) battle is just... the worst part is you NEED this info. I keep waiting for it to stop

but it never stops. Just this endless stream of incredibly convoluted information that makes playing both impossible and in a fitful rush to get it off my screen as i'm being attacked i end up deleting hotbar attacks and other shit. I hate PC menus that get dumped w/ no change

The little padlock icon next to hotbar 1 will lock the hotbar so you can't pull skills off (you can still drag then on while locked). The HUD in xiv is extremely customisable, though it have no idea how to do it with a controller.

See tweet below. Every single bit of instruction i get is for PC. Where all this would make sense. I'm on PS4, for which there is absolutely no instuction including in the official playguide.

Did some searching: If you hold L1 and push R3 does it give you a little software mouse-like interface to use?

Hrm, if it's not available by default I think you can find the virtual mouse under System/System Config/Gamepad Settings/ then look for "Enable Virtual Mouse" and mess with the stick sensitivity until it feels less bad. Not ideal, but should hopefully make PC guides more useful.
