Better late than never, I guess. I just... how do you get this far, as a writer, and not learn that you have to like, edit? Why would you apply a lesson about the (limited) value of pantsing on a multi-season TV show to a MOVIE in the first place?

I maintain that one of the best Abrams movies is still Mission Impossible III, where he was basically making a standalone episode of a franchise. Also, he (plus Kurtzman & Orci) were playing in someone else's sandbox, and weren't yet too big for oversight.
