Good point in this #TheFalconAndTheWinterSoldier review by @FilmCritHULK, that the show should have started with Sam trying to be Cap, being knocked back, and then working his way towards reclaiming the role.https://www.patreon.com/posts/50404851

(As
@FilmCritHULK points out, this is not a call to have Sam experience extreme racism on screen. There are ways to establish that Sam isn't being taken seriously as Captain America that don't require that kind of fetishizing of black pain.)3 replies 0 retweets 10 likesShow this thread -
It also occurs to me that
@FilmCritHULK made a similar critique of WandaVision's storytelling, suggesting that the show should have started by revealing what Wanda had done, and then worked through the implications of that, instead of structuring itself as a mystery.2 replies 0 retweets 11 likesShow this thread
Both essentially hide their premise, not engaging the actual conflict of their story, but hinting and playing at the edges. Perhaps because the second both tried, they fell apart. Fearful writing abounds
